Cartoon Network’s collection of animated shows make sense for a game like MultiVersus and characters like Dee Dee and Mordecai could help appeal to old and new players alike. If characters like Neo from The Matrix or Rick from Casablanca make it into the game, their art style is going to be radically different from their source material. There are definitely more characters that could get in (and probably should) in Warner Bros.' MultiVersus, but it’s fun to think about what animated characters might make it on the roster due to their art style naturally fitting in with the game’s cartoon nature. Quintel and William Salyers give unique and hilarious voice performances and their characters would add more contemporary internet humor to the world of MultiVersus. Some might argue that their popularity on the internet has eclipsed their popularity during the actual run of Regular Show. This duo and their hit television show has always had an irreverent style of humor that pits them against world-ending threats. Making these two characters fighters in MultiVersus feels right. There’s an episode where Rigby learns karate chops and punches “of death.” Over the course of the show, they use everything to fight – from magic keyboards to fireworks to arm wrestling. ![]() The show is one of many to reference Street Fighter. Other confirmed MultiVersus gameplay modes include 1v1 battles and 4-player 'free for alls'. You will also be able to form a guild with your friends and challenge other guilds in combat, with the trailer making it clear that social features such as this will be a part of the game. The MultiVersus trailer (which we've embedded slightly further down this page) made it clear that there will be several different ways to take part in MultiVersus gameplay.Īlthough you will be able to enter the fray as a solo fighter, the trailer made a point of highlighting the 2v2 battle format, where you'll play in pairs and work with your co-op partner to try and dish out powerful combos and interlinked attacks. Viewers with good hearing may have noticed some very familiar voices in the MultiVersus trailer, with several big-name actors reprising their famous roles here! From what we can tell, all of these people are set to have voice roles, many of them reprising their iconic characters in the MultiVersus cast: Reindog (an original character for MultiVersus).Judging by the official MultiVersus website, these characters have been confirmed to appear in the game's roster of fighters at launch: There may well be microtransactions in the game itself, but we'd expect those to be optional if they do exist. Yes, one thing we know is that MultiVersus will be free-to-play, meaning that you won't have to spend a penny to download the game and start playing. The word 'open' suggests that this one will be a lot easier to get involved with.
